I'm proud of my not-for-profit project, which began in May 2021 as a weekly show, NuDirections, on a London community radio station. It’s since evolved into Jazz Matters and become a significat podcast platform reaching over 40,000+ open-minded listeners across 24+ platforms in 57 countries. 

This site is dedicated to the best in Jazz and World Music, celebrating the diverse, vibrant sounds that make this music so special. Whether you're a lifelong fan or a curious newcomer, there's something here for you. I present a monthly showcase shows featuring fresh global talent and timeless legends, along with Global Melodies—genre-spanning mixes rooted in jazz traditions from across the world, and my World Music mixes highlight Brazilian, Cuban, African, and Japanese jazz, showcasing the rich sounds these cultures bring to the global scene. 

Jazz Matters is now including a growing Blog space with stories, interviews, curated links, and more, offering deeper context and connection to the music. At its heart, Jazz Matters is about sharing. You’ll find playlists with background insights, rare gems, emerging artists, and behind-the scenes, voices, from label founders to crate diggers. This is a journey of sound and discovery. Interview with Billy Cobham

Way back in the mid-1970s, Billy Cobham released an album that altered the course of my life, The Album Crosswinds and the track Heather just took my musical mind in a different direction, I started to go to Jazz clubs to hear and see this music that set my mind on fire.

Ian Daley (aka Selwyn) from Route Publisher (Music books). The interview was about the book "Train of Ice and Fire". This is the story about the maddest and most dangerous ever tour done by a rock band. The band was Mano Negra from France. The ex band of its leader Manu Chao.

All those that know me – know Joe Zawinul is my music man and my band was Weather report, then the Zawinul Syndicate. Around 2002 Joe released the Faces and places album - I arranged what was my very first interview and it was with Joe Zawinul my music idol, using a mini disc recorder to record a phone call to Joe’s home in the USA.

MESTIZO SOUNDS PRESENT BARCELONA MANCHESTER

Mestizo Sounds is continuing with “Let's Talk about Music” series, this new programme will focus on the musical cities of Barcelona and Manchester. Jordi Ballart, a Barcelona native from Hospitalet, writer and Catalan linguist, will talk with Mestizo Sounds about the music of these two cities.
